Many locations Subciety explores are private property or have restricted access.

All possible measures are taken to gain permission from property owners before any location is entered.

Trespassing can be a FELONY in most states.  NEVER enter any location posted with "No Trespassing" signs without prior permission.

Strict Subciety guidelines ensure that Subciety is not responsible for an "open" site being closed.  We leave no trace of our presence and never steal or damage anything.

Respecting other people's property is the best way to ensure these locations remain easily accessible and open to the curious public.

Subciety Security Regulations:
1) No vandalism - No participant on any Expedition will participate in any activity that maliciously damages any property, regardless of value found on any Expedition site.

2) No Theft - No participant on any Expedition will remove any objects, items or artifacts from any Expedition Site regardless of value.  Take nothing but pictures.

3) Leave no trace - Expedition participants will not leave any trash, refuse or excrement on any Expedition site.  All equipment, containers and trash generated on the Expedition will be packed out.  Leave nothing but footprints.

4) No Expedition member will reveal exact location or access information about any Expedition Site to any person outside the Subciety.  Location and entry information for any Subciety Expedition Site is considered privileged information - Sharing this information publicly or with unsavory individuals could lead to Expedition Sites being vandalized, damaged or robbed and closed to future - good natured - explorers.

5) Cooperate with "Authorities"- In any situation where a Subciety Expedition encounters "Authority" figures (police, security, and site neighbors) it is Subciety's policy to cooperate with these individuals.  As Subciety abstains from "criminal" activity it is never necessary to lie, evade or deceive "authorities".

6) Subciety Expedition Organizers are required to use all means necessary to acquire permission to access any privately owned or publicly managed Expedition Sites.  Any site that is clearly posted with warnings about trespassing or entry will not be entered on any Subciety Expedition.

7) Prying and Jimmying - As some Expedition Sites are in extremely poor/damaged condition it may be necessary to use tools or force to gain entry to some part of the site.  In instances where property owners/managers have been contacted and have given permission such activity will be at that owner or managers discretion.  In unmarked/abandoned sites with no authority to consult only minimal force will be applied and measures must be taken to minimize damage to any property, regardless of value.  In any instance where force is applied to gain access to a site or area within a site the Expedition will ensure that the site is left in the same condition - anything opened will be re-sealed.
