1) Buddy System - on any expedition all participants must have a "buddy" that takes responsibility for his or her safety - and vice-versa. Buddies are not allowed to separate during a mission unless "buddy" responsibilities are transferred to another person and all parties are informed of the change. 2) Grouping - No group shall split from the main expedition body unless: a) They report their departure to the Expedition Leader.
b) They provide an estimated time and location of their return to the main group.
c) The group contains no fewer than 3 people.
d) All groups are adequately experienced and equipped with appropriate safety gear.
3) No Horseplay - Except in areas deemed "clear" no horseplay, pranking or "scampering"
4) No Drinking / Drugs - The consumption of any substances that negatively affect a persons physical or mental faculties while on or immediately before an expedition is strictly prohibited.
5) Safety Gear - No person shall participate in an Expedition unless they meet the minimum safety guidelines provided by the Expedition Leaders. Any person can be refused participation in an Expedition if the EL's feel they are not adequately equipped and prepared for the mission.
6) No Expedition will take place without the following: -Cell Phone -First Aid Kit -Off-Site Person with info about Where/When the expedition is to take place in order to contact appropriate emergency services if the expedition does not return as scheduled. -Appropriate safety gear determined by the Expedition Leaders to fit the site.
7) All Expedition participants must take part in a pre-mission safety briefing performed by the Expedition Leader.
8) Any participant in any Expedition is free to determine if any activity meets their own personal requirements for safety. Peer pressure will not be applied to any person who decides an activity or location is "not for them". The group is responsible for ensuring everyone's safety and will not leave a people behind if it cannot meet the requirements of Safety rule #2. |
